On Wednesday it became clear again that we are at a turning point in flight simulation this year. Mathijs Kok gave an outlook on the plans for the year 2020 in this post in the Aerosoft Forum. And oh wonder: With regard to the surely sometime coming version 5 of Prepar3D as well as the eagerly awaited Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 there are no more developments of important Aerosoft products for P3D v4 planned at the moment. The reason for this is also the experiences made so far with working for this platform.
Aerosoft focuses on the FS2020
Here one shows up rather disappointed, because it is connected with very high expenditure to develop an Add-On with newest techniques for the Prepar3D v4. This assessment is also supported by the fact that supposedly even now only a few add-ons for the latest edition of the simulator have PBR textures. This would be different with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, which is currently being developed by Asobo. Mathijs has apparently visited the responsible developer studio several times and has been able to see the flight simulator live. Accordingly euphoric he shows up in the thread linked above. So the focus for future new developments is now on Prepar3D v5 and Microsoft FS2020.
